Career Overview
In his most recent role as President of Participant Capital, Mr. Wasserman oversaw capital markets, investor relations activities, and served as a member of the investment committee. Prior to joining Participant in 2021, he was responsible for brokerage, family office and registered investment advisor relationships in the US, Latin America and Europe for Virtus Real Estate Capital (Managing Director - Capital Development).
Throughout his career, Mr. Wasserman has led product development and marketing efforts to promote complex investment products and strategies; Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (Director – Investment Product Origination); HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. (SVP – Structured Fund Products); Lehman Brothers Inc. (VP- Structured Credit Trading); and BNP Capital Markets (VP – Latin American Investment Banking). Bernie has been a producing manager with a proven track record of successful collaboration with acquisition, portfolio management, sales and trading teams in the US and Latin America.
Mr. Wasserman holds a Bachelor of Science from New York University in International Marketing and Finance. He maintains Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses and is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
